While there are over 200 species of honeysuckle (Lonicera caprifolium) many of them possessing similar chemical compositions, only the 3 most well know varieties are used to make honeysuckle essential oil, being the European honeysuckle, Blue Honeysuckle and Japanese Honeysuckle.

Honeysuckle essential oil is derived from the bright flowers of the honeysuckle plant and has been used for over 1400 years in traditional Chinese medicine

Photosensitivity – some of the compounds in this oil will make the skin slightly more sensitive to light, so moderate your exposure to sunlight and apply a sunscreen to protect against sunburn
